Wearing other club's colours

First things first. I ONLY support the Albion and have no second team.

A few weeks ago I was in Brighton on a Sunday (Albion shop closed). It started raiining so I wanted a very cheap baseball cap to keep the rain off my glasses. I went into the chav's Austin Reed in North Street (that jumble sale called Sport Soccer) and could buy a throw away cap for £3. The choice: Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd or Spurs. I went for Arsenal.

A few years ago when Newcastle played Man Utd in the cup final I didnt want to be mistaken for a Red so I bought a cheap (there's a theme here) Toon tee shirt to wear down the pub where we watched the game.

In January I was in Edinburgh and went to Hibs. They had a sale in the shop and I bought a quality (but cheap) Hibs tee shirt.

A couple of days later I was in Sunderland and went in their shop. Walked straight out because I realised that I couldn't bear the thought of wearing one of their shirts even if it was very cheap.

I wonder why I'm ok with Arsenal, Newcastle and Hibs, but not Sunderland?

Do you have any other clubs kit? It doesn't count if its your second team.

I've got a Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic shirt if that counts???

In a pile of football shirts
I occasionally wear other shirts, mostly Cypriot teams, but also a Partick Thistle shirt. I have a colleciton of blue and white striped shirts from all over the place which occasionally get worn.

I then have a pretty eclectic mix of shirts in my collection, generally a little unusual, or topical to me at some time in my life.

Amongst others I have Iran and Iraq, Turkey, Spain, Wolking, Newquay, 2 Japanese shirts, one signed by a player, loads of different stuff.

The only red and blue striped shirt I have is a Tibet national shirt.

I crashed over at a mates place in my college days after a heavy night out. I asked him if he had a pair of shorts I could use to sleep in. It was dark and I was drunk. I woke up in the morning with a pair of Man Utd replica shorts on.

I was disgusted.

(You thought I was going to say HOTPANTS didn't you?)

Been sporting a Hertha Berlin hat in Chamonix this week. Watched the first half of their season and got into them. Dont see the need to have a second Uk team...the Albion give me enough pain.

I'm surprised nobody else has picked up on this yet - but I'd FAR rather put up with rain on my glasses and wet hair, than walk around Brighton in a Premiership teams baseball cap and be mistaken for a glory-hunting Skysports brainwashed armchair nobber.

Didn't they have any hats without a connection to a specific football team?

Or give it to Paul Ried to put in the bin and get an Albion one in return :D

I have my Worthing Shirt, as they are my main team, but other than my england top, all others are albion ones.
