Astroturf for the line runners.

Why do we need astroturf for the line runners? Slightly disappointed there is such a sizeable gap from the stand to where the edge of the actual pitch will be. Always get a much better atmosphere in grounds where the crowd are close to the action. Seems a bit unnecessary to have all that space....

Seriously though, I can see the very first shades of green appearing at the edges of the pitch proper, as per the carlisle vid:

I'm sure you've seen what happens to grass when it is constantly walked / run on in the same area. Even expensive grass.

And.. sorry for a duplicate post but I thought more peoples eye may be caught by this thread title rather than the webcam thread.

For those of you that missed it X-Isle from Plymouth posted a link to a pictoral record that one of theirs did when their pitch ( the same as ours) was relaid last summer.
If you look at the pictures on 18th June when the seed was sown and then the pictures on 22nd July you will see something remarkable, in that it doesn't take long.........
The pictures in betweeen are worth a look too, in order to match our progress against theirs. Fascinating stuff.. enjoy

If you look on the webcam it looks like definite growth infront the north stand (where the view angle will be at it's flattest).
