We badly need full-back cover, particularly RB

Not the point that narly was trying to make, at all, but the comparison with Johnson is actually a very good one, in that both are very good attacking full-backs, with some defensive short-comings.

our general strength has been the ability of others (significantly Bennett and Greer) to cover his forays forward. Nothing can account for silly defensive errors committed when he is back and doing what he is supposed to defensively but these things happen. Thankfully they occurred in less than crucial games but that is probably exactly why they occurred. That said they are mistakes that are possibly the difference between him staying with us in the championship and potentially being a premier league player.

While the most obvious two mistakes have been in matches where it hasn't mattered, it is true that Calderon has been consistently suspect defensively, particularly in the second half of the season. Carlisle's second and third goals spring readily to my mind. However, there have been many other times when he's been given a torrid time by opposing players. Hopefully, Taricco's coaching will bring in what's missing from his defensive game.

We do need full back COVER that is the key word. I would like us to bring in a younger version of Tarrico an experienced full back happy to play on the left or right as cover for both Calderon and Painter
