Bringing in that number at once is not always wise. Players take time to settle, especially into a new country.
Think of talent like Harley, CMS, Hopkins, all good players but not at their best yet. Try and build a virtually new team, complete with new coaches & manager and their's more than a fair chance it will fail, especially as the fans will have raised expectations.

Yeah, Hopkins has made no impression at all, get rid I say

I believe that there is no restriction on the amount of loans from abroad but only five may be in the match day squad. Three have been at Watford for the whole of pre season and all the rest went on the Ireland tour, there has only been two players leave from last years first team squad so the backbone of the team will still be there but the style of play will be totally different, the ball being kept on the floor and young technically gifted players with pace throughout the team, should be interesting

Doesn't matter if they are from home or abroad I think the limit is 8 loanees (max 4 from one club) and 5 in the matchday squad. You can only have 4 loanees over age 23 and from any one club you can loan max 2 under 23 and max 2 over 23. (rule 52 I think?). All of that aside half your side is changing and most of those have never played here.Add to that, as you say yourself, the rest will be required to play atotally different style. I would be very nervous but excited too. You should see some great football but don't epect too much too soon

Our signings have been good so far. PIG is much better that almunia. We need some patience still a couple of weeks to go for Gus to finish off his summers business. As for Watford there are o threat to us.

Keep an eye on Watford this year. They had some excellent results last year mixed in with some shockers! If they sort the leaky defense out they could be dangerous

I'm not worried about quantity... as Gus said, we need 2 more quality players - powerhouse midfielder and striker with presence... the sooner, the better...

The changes at Watford surely must improve their chances of making the top six this coming season.
However, the ground needs to improve as a large area was unused last season.
