Victory over Hampshire last week at The PROBIZ County Ground has propelled Sussex into fourth spot in the Division One table, slightly ahead of Somerset and on the tail of opponents Warwickshire who are in third.

It was Sussex’s fourth victory from the nine games so far this season and they will be looking to pile the pressure on the top three as the competition begins in earnest once again.

From last week’s eleven that saw off Hampshire, Matt Prior is unavailable for the match due to his involvement with England’s Test series against India, which begins at Lord’s on Thursday.

Wayne Parnell and Luke Wright are both out through injury but Michael Yardy returns to captain the side, whilst young all-rounder Will Adkin is also included for what would be his first LV=CC appearance of the season if selected.

Massive wicket. Chopra has the third most runs in this competition @ an average of 50 odd.

If only that were true. He started the season on fire, got over 500 runs in April (in 3 games), but has since (excluding today) garnered 400 runs in 7 games. Similarly Westwood is absolute shite. Without the England players (and with Chanderpaul yet to arrive) we don't have many players capable of getting big scores (Porterfield may be the exception), but there's potential for plenty of breezy 50s and we bat a long way down with Woakes at 9.

It's the bowling I have more concern with. Rankin is our really threatening bowler (and he's injured); Clarke has also bowled well but Woakes is a bit out of form and Miller has been rubbish all season.

Warks will be the happier, comentary said they struggled with the ball moving around.

I imagine it will settle down and they will be on maximum batting points by tea, prepare the buffet
