Not sure anyone has given any consideration to a Vokes/Barnes combination. Not much pace there, but with a couple of pacy wingers this could work. Barnes we know can play off the shoulder of a target man.

I'm sure we can make it work - Vokes does sound a younger version of Glenn Murray. We'll have to see him before you can make too many judgements, but it's the physical presence we've been missing.

Anyway, CMS has been playing pretty much on his own up front. What's to say Vokes won't occupy that role with CMS slightly behind? He might get a bit more freedom to shoot a bit more often, rather than having to do the donkey work all on his own?

Excatly, I would have CMS playing deeper off of Vokes it's what we've been missing up front. With the best will in the world CMS and Barnes are not C/F's and do not win many headers or hold the ball with their backs to the goal. We may now see a more likely 4-4-1-1 outfield.
