Why is it that the English 'keeper won't dive? She just seems to run across the goal!

Puty about the result though.

The girl that took the 4th penalty stamped a bloody great divot on the penalty spot prior to her taking it. No wonder we missed the last two

Why on Earth are England footballers, male or female, shit at penalties?

On a brighter note, at least we didn't go out on pens to the Germans.

ps CORKING spot-kick by Kelly Smith. Who said we (the English) can't take 'em?

Amazing that France couldn't close out the match in 120 minutes, of which the last 45 minutes or so was against only 10 fit players.

Up to the shoot-out the English goalkeeper kept out 10 out of 11 shots on goal, the French 2 out of 3.

The whole English side looked very composed and controlled throughout. Plenty of excellent close passing, building movement up the pitch, very little hit and hope.

French had more flair but became ragged and selfish as frustration crept in.

I've seen many less entertaining matches in League One, not to mention some pretty tedious Championship and Premiership games on TV!
