Not quite. I like Russel Brand he should just calm down a bit.

As a guest on someone else's show (Graham Norton, Jonathan Ross, Have I Got News For You) Russell Brand is superb: witty, entertaining and articulate.

But as stand-up comedian on his own, he is simply not funny. Saw him live in Bristol, a few week ago, and didn't laugh once. He seemed to think swearing and talking very explicitly about shagging was enough to fill a 90 minute set - he was simply embarrassing.

I think I'll bring in The Ashes winning side of 2005. Now they deserved some praise for sure, but f*** me they got far too much. They beat just ONE other team, and they all got MBEs for their troubles. And then when they played the Aussies just 18 months laters, they got utterly humiliated and completely SPANKED. Not exactly a mark of greatness.
