It's not switched on for games as such, is it. It's switched on when the temperature is forecast to be below freezing for a prolonged period of time, to ensure the ground doesn't turn solid.
From what I remember when I did the stadium tour, they said the system was thermostatically controlled and came on automatically once the temp dropped to a certain point. So nobody actually has to switch it on manually, no idea how many times it actually came on though.
