See this is where a RATIONAL hatred for referees can surface. What a pompous prick.

It is quite obvious by the time the guy is on the stretcher that he is NOT faking it. How can any reasonable-minded person, at that point - having had plenty of time to think things through - send the player off?

That's what is so funny, if he had gone running over there in the heat of the moment brandishing the red card not realising the extent of the injury, then that's one thing. To wait for him to be strapped to a stretcher, given oxygen and then gently lifted up to be carried away and THEN show the card.. That's just comedic genius.

Is this the same ref we had against Burnley?

Times like that I wouldn't have any objection to the entire team walking off the pitch and refusing to continue the game.

It's unconscious diving bastards like this that ruin the game for everyone. They think they can get away with murder just because someone elbowed their vertabrae out of place.

I'm usually quick to defend referees on here, but even I can't defend that. I will highlight, though, that he isn't being sent off for simulation (diving) he is being sent off for a second bookable offence. The "dive" is no more the sending off offence than whatever he got the first yellow for.

The milk of human kindness... he's unconscious, worse case scenario he dies, but he's getting a second yellow anyway!
