How can you POSSIBLY compare the two??

For a start Blakes 7 is set in space about bringing down an oppresive regime, secondly it was made in the late 70's early 80's on a budget of about 20p whereas Smallville is set on earth following a young superman with a budget of ££££££ and is more recent.

for a late 70's early 80's show the totti wasnt bad for that era, being well before easy access totti of the internet years when standards increase with quantity available.

Because when judging a sci-fi series the 'quality of totty' is not the main criteria. Blake's Seven was a groundbreaking series, not least because of the amount of women in lead roles (not just standing around as eye candy). Smallville on the other hand was just an unoriginal, bog-standard schedule filler.
