Until The End Of The World & Stay (Faraway So Close) are the only U2 songs on my hard drive (over 10,000 songs)

but they're both excellent - just a shame about all the other pompous nonsense

Yes!

By far the best band I've seen live. Every album (even Pop which got slated by most) has 5 or 6 brilliant songs on

They made two of the most outstanding albums ever:

Unforgettable Fire and to this still my favourite album all time The Joshua Tree.

The Joshua Tree at the time of release was beyond belief - finally a truely great rock and roll album.

My two favourite U2 tracks of all time are Spanish Eyes and Elvis Presley and America.

U2 live were sensational as well.

They are a very infuential band and also very good quality as well - not that much stuff stands the test of time these days but U2 is up there.

Definite yes. They are still rattling out great songs and are amazing live.

I cannot help but admire the self importance and pomposity of Bono.

..and the way they entered the stadium at Cardiff recently was pure rock and roll: Black limo drives into stadium to side of stage, band alight and walk onto stage where they are handed their instruments, Bono bellows un, dos, tres and they launch into Vertigo. Get back into car and disappear into the night at end of gig.

I'd rather have that than some of the precious and delicate 'singer songwriters' that are currently doing the rounds.
