Fantastic day on Sunday. In my opinion, the best ever day as an Albion fan. But when I arrived with my mates at the station @ 7.30 ish there were a lot of Police and I was told trains had been delayed due to loads of fighting on trains and platforms involving Brighton, Bristol City and Cardiff's "Soul Crew." There was certainly a nasty atmosphere by then. Did anyone get caught up in this?

Our group then spent a very nervous train journey surrounded by some of Bristol 's firm but managed to avoid any trouble by literally not saying a word when trying to be provoked into a fight. Huge sighs of relief when we got to Bristol and they got off. There was one real meathead with sunglasses who was really spoiling for it. Total hooligan, total wanker. Hope the Portugese manage to keep him and others like him out.

Didn't mar the day though, just wondered if anyone else came across this?

There was a mass of OB running somewhere from the station about 7.30. All the Brizzle we met were fine with us. I suspect any real trouble was City v. Soul Crew.

You must have been in the same queue as me - enjoying the 15 old pink-cheeked chav in a plastic/leahter jacket make a tit of himself and the same with that other gimp at the front.

There was a bit of trouble at the station which meant we had to wait outside with some City fans (perfectly nice ones I should add) for about half an hour. This must've been at about half six, though I'm not at all sure about that. The security man at the gate hadn't seen what had gone on, but the platform had cleared and there were lots of police with dogs etc when we were finally let in to the station. There were police on the trains too which helped a lot, though only one City fan tried to start something with a Brighton fan and that was easily dealt with. Strange to see fans shaking policemens' hands and thanking them as they got off the train but it shows how the vast majority are real fans and don't want any violence. I suspect as has been said above that the Soul Crew were a big cause of whatever went on.

Phew! must be my longest post ever!

I was also at the station at 7:30 watching that drunk bloke getting escorted out of the queue by the police and then getting bitten by the police dog.
I had to travel back to templemeads with all the bristol lot - but most were a good laugh.
Saw a few arrests - the police stamped on any possible signs of trouble quite quick, but it really is OT nicking someone for mooning.

Myself and Sonic were waiting for a train to Fareham (via Bath), so I'm not sure if we were in the same queue as many other Albion. The OB and Brizzle on our train were fine BTW. One copper accepted a swig from someone's "refueling" supplies and the City boys were wishing us good luck for next season.

Where do you get this 'Soul Crew' crap from?

Have a look at the police reports. There wasn't a single person from South Wales arrested all weekend. And it was the same story on FA Cup final weekend too.

The police reports make no mention of Cardiff fans at all. But that doesn't stop you jumping to conclusions.

"Looked like there might have been a bit of trouble. Must have been Cardiff fans....."

Change the record, for f***'s sake!

Some trouble on the train we originally boarded, the 1900, which was held back by the police for what seemed like an eternity. As it kicked off they stopped anyone else getting on to the platforms, which ties up with what Sneaky George and samparish refer to. The delay only antagonised the situation on the train, with one particular group of Brizzle muppets doing their utmost to start a fight with anyone wearing blue and white, including women and children. As a result of the delay, we'd missed our connection at Salisbury, so got off and waited for the next Paddington train. The half hour then spent on the platform waiting can only be described as tense and full of menace, but we got out ok, arrived back in Brighton at 0100.

yeah, i was there around that time. the train to bristol was full of crammed, bitter, angry bristol fans, all of whom seemed to want to get off and start beating the shit out of anyone who looked their way.
Having said that, there were a few nice bristol fans we chatted to but to be honest, i don't think albion fans would have taken it that badly. oh well.

So, it sounds like it was Bristol fans causing problems. Just as they did when they wrecked the Prince of Wales pub after WINNING the LDV Vans Trophy.

No Cardiff fans then.......

Doubt the Soul Crew would bother about getting arrested when they aren't even playing?? We all know our boys were up there causing a bit of bother, let's not pretend it was all one way.

Saying that i did see TLB charging a line of Rozzers.

A lot of people were held back outside the station for the simple reason that they were allowing no more than a train load of people at a time on to the platform.

No doubt this was fueling rumours of trouble going on.

Not that I was there all evening. Our train left at 6.45pm after a peaceful 30 minute wait on the platform with no sign of anything going on.

I am with the full harris on this, never saw any trouble the whole time I was in Cardiff, arriving there at 12.30 and leaving at 6.15. The only time that tempers became a bit frayed was waiting outside in the street to get let into the station forecourt and a group of fans, can't say from which club, were giving the Police a bit of abuse but by and large everyone was queuing peacefully together.

what realy made me laugh, was this couple of pissed up Bristol meat heads, trying to start trouble with us by chanting "does your GIRLFRIEND know your here".

stupid twats
