I asked a couple of friends who live in the Wirral for advice regarding convenient pubs and they discounted any near the ground.
It was suggested that the Village hotel just off the A41 in Bromborough is as good a place to meet people, but it is a bit soulless. So, if you're there for the weekend, then meeting in Liverpool is as good an option as any.
