Nothing to do with southern! to cut a long story short, first train hit something and was damaged.

Would "something" be a set of points that were left incorrectly set after overnight engineering works

Cannot go into too much detail as I was called out to it No points in that location but it was to do with an engineering train that went through there last night during work.
