What are your top 10?

1. Stuart Storer Vs Doncaster

2. Robbie Reinult Vs Hereford

3. Danny Cullip Vs Chesterfield

4. Nathan Jones Vs Nottm Forest

5. Bobby Zamora Vs Halifax

6. Adam Virgo Vs Swindon

7. Gordon Smith Vs Manchester United

8. Jimmy Case Vs Sheffield Wednesday

9. Richard Carpenter Vs Sheffield Wednesday

10. Bobby Zamora Vs ??? The one when we pass it from back to front and then Bobby nips in and around the goal keeper to put it in. Rochdale?

All very recent-ish, I'm sure some older fans will have some other memories..?

PS. Not in order and hopefully will make a poll if this thread gets a load of replies.

2 classics, other than all the obvious 1's. I'll have to add Chappers exoset (sp) against B/mouth on a very wet Weds & Terry Connor's header @ Hull, in the FA cup

Some of them, too hot to compile the best ten, but number one was Peter Ward's solo goal against Mansfield 1976-7 when he beat three players in a packed penalty area and scored from an oblique angle in a 2-1 win against eventual Division 3 Champions Mansfield Town in 1976-7 (I think the year is right?).

The strangest was Kit Napier's goal against Stephenson and Chesterfield in the 1971 Division 3 Promotion season after the game had been held up for several minutes.

The best combination goal was Willie Irvine's goal against Aston Villa in the same 1971 season. All at the Goldstone, so far.

Bobby Zamaro's turn and long shot against Wolves was probably better than a Ken Beamish rocket against Rotherham in 1971.

Then there was Munday's overhead kick against Leicester City wa which was spectacular. And Gerry Ryan scores a few solo run and shot goals in the 1980s, but I cannot remember which was best.

The current Paul Watson has probably scored the best free kick, but I cannot remember against who?

yes, cos of course we can remember all the goals we have ever seen can't we?

paul brooker v reading? the best goal we ever scored? you absolute jester. :jester:

stuart munday could probably have a list all of his own, he only scored crackers. bicycle kick was away to birmingham (not leicester, that was another blinder from miles out which was probably intended to be a cross).

the goal turkey put at the end was scored against reading at home.

codner, away to plymouth from about 50 yards.

nogan scored a couple of nice ones.

rod thomas's first goal for the club away to cambridge (?) was good.

wilkins free kick at home to port vale which went in off the bar.

Ian Chapmans goal at Dean Court around 89'. Caught them on the break, and Chappers controlled a cross on his thigh and did a kind of sideways scissors-kick volley from the edge of the area, cracking it into the goal we were standing behind to put us 2-0 up. Tremendous strike.

The Argus initially credited it to Bremner, but later corrected their mistake when they realised that there was no way he was capable of scoring a goal like that.

Absolutely agree with that one.

Oh, and the same year Nelson scored one just as good away at Notts Co in the League.

Can't believe that nobody has put down Sergei Gotsmanov's goal against Hull at the Goldstone where he beat four or five players, rounded the keeper, stuck his hands in the air...., and then scored!!

Mark Lawrenson. 1979 FA Cup 3rd round Wolves at home.
Shame we lost 2-3 though.

BZ against Bury away. A perfect one-two with Paul Brooker put him clear, and he chipped the 'keeper from 30 odd yards.

No it's 100% not against Reading. I'll have to check out the videos. It was a brilliant team move.
