How did NOTW come up with this story anyway? I thought there was absoultely no evidence to back any of the claims up....

Well what's interesting is that other members of the party gave evidence against him. Particularly saying that there was a meeting where he admitted some of the allegations.
So - someone is lying then, and the news is that a perjury case may follow.

LONDON (Reuters) - Scottish socialist politician Tommy Sheridan won his libel action on Friday against the News of the World newspaper over its claims he cheated on his wife and went to night clubs for group sex.
A jury in Edinburgh decided Sheridan had been defamed by the paper and awarded him 200,000 pounds in damages.
"They are liars and we have proved that they are liars," a triumphant Sheridan told reporters outside the court.
Not sure if he is totally "innocent" but I like the guy and the NOTW are scum so...

Sounds like a bit of a witch hunt! I can't stand NOTW. Making allegations to sell papers and then pathetic costs which are easily covered by a days trading.

UNFORTUNATELY £200,000 damages is nothing to MURDOCH.
There should be laws to take away the PASSPORTS of such powerbrokers when they peddle lies, but unfortunately this will never happen.
