Brace yourself...

Despite the Saturday result, I am still relatively positive with regards to the outcome at the end of the season.

Its almost xmas, we have just lost to a premier league (elect) side. We are third from bottom, in touch with other teams, and still on track to the 45 - 50 points we need this season.

We got our the one point I nervously hoped for from 2 tough away games. Now, lets tonk Hull, and challenge for the playoffs!

And I am not involved or have any interest in the self promoting feuds on here... controversial?

Faldo - giving it to you straight!

can you explain the phrase " still on track for 40-50 points" please?

and also explain where you think those points are coming from?

Abort, retry, fail
I am confident. We got a drubbing just at the right time. We were stuck in a rut. Playing good football and not getting the results. We must try harder at Withdean. There is always talk of the lack of atmosphere not helping, but surelu that is purely psychological.

The next few games the players will want to atone for the defeat on saturday and if we get a win under our belts on friday, then confidence will grow.

Barrel of Fun agrees with Faldo, apart from being on target.

Well said mate. I am also disappointed by the Yo-Yo sentiments on NSC.
One win and we're going to romp this league, one loss and we're doomed.
Its the same with players - build em up (Robinson, CKR) then smash em down. Or destroy their confidence early days (McCammon) before hoping for their return like the Messiah.

I reckon most of these comments come from kids who have been bought up on 'instant food' culture and need to mature a bit.

Perhaps my math is a little awry (or a lot...) - the point is that we are not cut adrift at the bottom, and therefore in with a fight.

Are there 3 teams in this league that are worse than us? Yes, says I!

Will there be a backlash following saturdays result? I should hope so.

Simple, everybody needs to get behind the team. We might still stay up and have more chance of doing this if all the fans back the team and the manager.

Could do with a few three pointers under the belt tho, eh?

We got eight points out of twelve last Xmas. Same again would be nice.

Interesting thought.

I hope you are right.......however this is a message board, not one of us that far from insanity, so you must expect some of us to get upset when we have only won 3 out of the last 35 and although down to 10 men, made Reading look like Brazil.

Remember, sidwell was pulled back by the ref for an earlier foul when he would have scored and reading did cock up three or four 3 on 1's, so it could easily have been 7 or 8.

What really surprised me on saturday is that McGhee chose a game we were never really going to win to blood a youngster who had not played for the first team before - and against the best attack in the division.......we will probably never know as according to MM he wa spleased with the performance:lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:
