Just thought about this and any player is better than his dad if the dad wasnt a pro footballer but in the examples I have given the dads played football as a pro also.

Oy! HB&B. Why don't you shut the f*** up about something you know nothing about?

Has it not occurred to you that Deano and his son knew this reaction would happen and perhaps, just perhaps Wilkins jnr has really had to prove himself, even more than the other kids and work even harder to get where he is?

Let's face it. Unlike, say, a re-insurance clerk wangling his son a job, Wilkins jnr is going to get caught out very quickly if he is crap. Would you as a dad want to put your son through the inevitable public vilification. Bet that didn't occur to you, did it?

Also, Deano is very good mates with Steve Gatting. Steve's son was a miracle when he was younger. Right now, he's not making the grade and lo and behold, Gatting jnr isn't in the squad. The same with Hinshelwood. Hardly a track record of nepotism. is it?

Why don't you give the kid a chance before shooting your ignorant opinions around, eh?

prat.

Yep thats about right ....

To have an opinion is one thing but to start a thread giving the lad some stick ..... well :tosser:

No doubt he's good and mate of mine has played against him and says he thinks he's big, strong and a good passer of the ball. Maybe, just maybe it's possible that Connor Wilkins got in because he's good enough, not because his dad's the manager.
