No, not his remit or department, but conversations do occur across civil service departments.

There are over 10,000 and 3,000 direct employees in those 'departments' (not allowing for various sub contracted companies/groups/specialists and all the rest etc). It would be a bit like 'someone at the Amex told me' . I'd let it go

Long queues round here and the presence of a police helicopter hovering over Clapham Common for a very long time.
However that all turns out to be about an anti vax demo/music event on the common (again).
I'm sure they will complain about it not being covered by their boring term the "MSM", but there were so little of them the only "movement" occurring tonight was the MET telling them all to go home.
Why they keep selecting the Common is beyond me. It's so ****ing huge I was up there earlier on (as I was before) and missed the whole thing.

Friday morning there was some at the Tates garage by Paradise Park.
I haven’t been in Newhaven for most of today, but I went past the petrol station on the A27 between Falmer and Lewes late afternoon and drivers were going in and no queue, I can’t 100% say they had fuel though.
The fuel station opposite by the Newmarket had cones in front of the pumps.
I work in a Govt HQ Department. Not heard anything of the sort.
But, chit chat is common in any walk of life. Some of it true, most utter rubbish.

Completely agree.
It doesn’t help there’s little trust in the media or the government. It really wouldn’t be a surprise if there was a shortage but the message has been there isn’t and to blame something else.

I'm afraid that from my experience of dealing with the Government for over 20 years, by that very idea, you are giving the Cabinet Office and Government in General far more credence than you should. Trust me

It might not be his remit but he would have concern if the agriculture sector were struggling to get the necessary fuel, not only for farms but the rest of the supply line.
That's not to say the stories relating to the Taliban are true though!
