With urban regeneration a hot-topic these days (the olympics) I was thinking how the West Pier could be re-built to improve the Brighton seafront.

If you were to rebuild the pier, what landmark sporting facility/event would you incorporate?

Onece upon a time it was a "bridge to nowhere". Now it is nowhere to nowhere.

How about a "musement" Arcde with lots of fairground rides on the end and lots of foreigners selling hotdogs, candy floss and donuts!

A jail to house the bastards from the Noble group who arranged for it to be burnt down.

In the channel, that would be so cool.

Take your Bernabeu, Stadio Del Alpi, Theatre of Dreams, Millenium, Allianz Arena, New Wembley and shove 'em your arse - A Stadium out to sea would be the coolest on the planet.

Only problem though is we'd need frogmen instead of ballboys
:lolol:

I expect you'd like to know about frogmen?
Yeah!
They live on fish and catch them by diving onto them from a great height.

I always liked Nick Cave's idea, of just dumping tons of topsoil on it, then leaving nature to do what it liked!

Lets have a nice low maintance pier like Deal Pier. Be quick to build does not require too much maintance and could have a nice cafe at the end of the pier, plus could be a popular pier to anglers.
