So in the context of the OP and the fact NSC is often like said film I will opt for

Groundhog Day.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
Run Spot Run is a comedic mover for me.

Groundhog Day

A very poignant film with a message and a little tear at the end ?, hell why not but for me the eyes welled up the moment they kissed and the snow started again, meaning the hell of his groundhog day and life lesson was over. A special moment for me.

Field of Dreams. No idea if it's tearworthy at the end as I never got that far, but given all the building work at Falmer, it has to be a shoo-in for the short list?

 you are a great man , must watch that again soon.
Well it was on ITV2, last Sunday, but the Jnrs were watching Le Tour.

I guess you're going to have to wait a least 2 weeks before it pops up somewhere else.

A 1993 release.

Schindler's List ? or more likely

Groundhog Day ?
Schinder's List v Cool Runnings!

One is a study of the power a great man can have over a situation beyond his control.
Whilst deftly handling intense racial prejudice with intelligence and skill.
And still managing to hold the audience in the palm of it's hand for a tearful finale.

The other is about Nazi's.

I take that back, it's on ITV2 tomorrow night.

I also noticed Highlander is on ITV4 tonight.
