About 12.

As mentioned by someone earlier, Atonement is a beautifully written book and the film does it justice.

Children of Men is my favourite film of all time.

Only 5 people have seen Festen and only 8 Three Colours Red! Two absolutely amazing films.

Surprising amount of animation in there, especially Japanese.

I am gradually getting a lot of the older classics through lovefilm and have not been disappointed. Saw 400 Blows and It happened one night, recently.

Seen 186, so still a few more to see, but some I am never really going to watch (Judgment at Nuremberg, The Great Dictator ), great to see so many foreign language films in there.

Would fully recommend some of the less watched films such as, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... and Spring, In the Mood for Love, The Secret in Their Eyes.

Anybody surprised to see some films omitted, Tokyo Story, The White Ribbon, A Prophet.

Great list. Few more to add to my lovefilm subscription.

108 (I own 62 of them on dvd/blu ray)

I was ashamed by what I felt was such a low total. I have been catching as many of them as I can and in the past couple of weeks have seen:

Goodfellas (1990)
It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
Black Swan (2010)
Raging Bull (1980)
The Sting (1973)
The Seventh Seal
Cool Hand Luke (1967)
Strangers on a Train (1951)
The Hustler (1961)
Network (1976)
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966)
Duck Soup (1933)

Bringing up my total to 121.

I also have, either on my sky plus, or friends dvds to borrow:

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
City of God (2002)
Vertigo (1958)
Amelie (2001)
Requiem for a Dream (2000)
Chinatown (1974)
Modern Times (1936)
Rebecca (1940)
For a Few Dollars More (1965)
Touch of Evil (1958)
Grave of the Fireflies (1988)
High Noon (1952)
The Grapes of Wrath (1940)
True Grit (2010)
The Wild Bunch (1969)
Dial M for Murder (1954)
The Fighter (2010)
Roman Holiday (1953)
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962)

Which will bring my total up to 140. Then I will keep an eye out on tv, and use lovefilm. The top 250 seems to change quite frequently, especially the lower end so some may be different (I don't think grave of the fireflies is in there now, the king's speech is).

79. I'm happy with that, as I'm far from a film addict. I know it's a top 250, but there really is some dross on there. Requiem for a dream? Snatch? District 9??!

Requiem for a dream is a class film, Snatch is good too. Can't comment on District 9.

Oh and I've seen 86 now.
