The thoughts of two teenage boys in the food queue

While waiting in a queue for about half hour to get a some food (ended up getting a vegetarian pie as everything else had gone ) there were two teenage boys (think they were about 14) behind us discussing their thoughts on the Amex

So, do you agree with the following paraphrased sentiments?

"I thought it would be well posh in here but there's no carpet and look at all the stuff hanging from the ceiling"
"Yeah if you spill a drink on this floor you'll fall over"

"I thought they'd have Brighton branded food"
"Yeah blue and white everywhere"

"£6.50 for a burger and a pint? That's ridiculous."
"Yeah, ridiculous, I could get a burger from McDonalds for 89p"
"99p"
"99p, whatever, and how much is a pint in a pub?"
"Erm... £3.80?"
"See it's cheaper to go pub and McDonalds"

"There should be a roof on the stadium"
"Yeah, looks stupid, the whole thing should be covered"

"They'd better still have some burgers left"
Yeah sorry to disappoint you lads...

Sounds like they've never been to a football match before. As with about half of the crowd I reckon.

To be fair to the little shits i've been a bit dissapointed by the lack of carpet and soft furnishings, I think Terry Bloom should send Derek Cahpman down to ikea this weekend and pick up some stuff. I also feel the club missed a trick not selling blue and white food at the kiosks that would have be a really classy touch.

My thirteen year old daughter went last night, it was her first ever live football match, and she loved it. She wasn't to happy about waiting 45 mins to get a drink though. But she now wants to go to every game lol.

To be fair, I remember taking a friend along to the Goldstone when I was 11 or 12 and he was most shocked that the pitch wasn't entirely covered. Maybe they get the wrong idea watching footy on the telly?

Live and learn boys, live and learn!

If planning had been granted for a roof and carpeting at Withers, well who knows?

Surely anything that got first-timers out of their armchairs and into a proper stadium is a good thing? Maybe a few didn't like the real world, but I'm sure many more will be hooked for life!

They were talking about the air con/vents and pipes etc that line the ceiling

I thought the same about these when I first went there. Having been told that the concourses would be fully completed I first thought that the ceilings would be finished in the coming few weeks - obviously not so.
