I was trying to work out what a seagull was doing in a room full of palace stuff. Obviously it is do do with the subconscious desire of all palace fans to really support Brighton.

I think you need a history lesson. Brighton and Palace were both promoted in trhe 1978/79 season.

No I don't - I simply misheard the first time I listened to it. I know we were both promoted but what I thought he said was Brighton & Tottenham were already promoted when in fact he said Brighton were top & already promoted. I shall get my hearing seen to & self flagellate for one month as a penance.
