If you mean "proper" Goan vindaloo - marinated in vinegar and garlic to intensify the flavour and tenderise the meat, then cooked in a real blend of spices.... then yes please.

If you mean the Friday night "Bangla" vindaloo - just chuck in as much chilli powder as possible and watch the late night punters suffer in an attempt to look hard.... then I'll have the Rogan Josh or the Dopiaza please.

On a train...
This may have been mentioned before, but am I correct in thinking that Chicken Tikka Masala was invented in Birmingham?

Don't know whether it was Birmingham, but certainly in the UK.

It's just Chicken tikka with some generic sauce chucked on top.

Ok

Pepper Water(tamarind spicy consomme type thing), Kofta Curry and Rice or

Country Captain or

Original Jalfrezi.

Jalfrezi originated as an Anglo-Indian recipe and utlised meat left over from a roast. The meat (pref Beef) is diced and spiced with the roast spuds and Okra. It is then deep fried.

Served again with Pepper Water and a good Garlic Dhall.

Any recognise such dishes. Prob not.

Come to the curry mile in Manchester and you will be in heaven.

The best is a Rezala, with caramelised onions ;)

Having lived there, there are some utter gems and about 5000 places that serve crap so bad that Tesco Value beats it

Is there a better thing in the world to have for breakfast than Idli Sambhar?

Actually yes: Malaysian Roti Canai, but it's a close-run thing...

With Chinese "bao-zi" stuffed dumplings beaten narrowly into bronze medal position.

God, I love food...
