Kate Bush has sold 25m albums and 15m singles - and that excludes downloads which must be a staggering number.

No, I am saying: if you like an artist, great. There is no need to rank them.

I will add to that, or weigh them in terms of sales.

I can recall 2 or 3 Eurythmics songs. I liked them. Dua Lipa has more than 7 million album sales. But I couldn't whistle any of her chunes. As for Taylor Swift . . . never heard a single song.

Now....Elizabeth Fraser, Lisa Gerard, Anneli Drecker, Siouxie, Virginia Astley, Shona Laing, Liv Kristine, Chaka Khan, Ramona Carlier, Polly Styrene, Dusty Springfield, Laura Nyro, Julie London, Dionne Warwick and so on... I like them a great deal and can whistle many of their chunes
