23 is a wierd number for me, it has cropped up so many times in my life. Ultimately I chose it as my "lucky" number, long before the chan of events below happened.

I went to a corporate function once in Olympia, they had a full on Casino set up, I was more interetsed in the free beer so I put my complimentary $100 token on 23 on the roulette table, and oh yes, it came in.

So, the following year, the same function, the same casino, you know where this is going, yup, my token, straight on 23, and yup, it came straight in.

Now, I'm not a gambler, never went to such a function again. But when Superwife and I were on holiday several years later, we went to a real casino, with real money, and I chickened out of putting $10 all on 23, I put it across the 4 adjoining boxes. Well guess what, it came in on 23.

I know, it ain't much, but whenever the option to chose 23 comes up, I chose it, and it works out suprisingly often. In fact, at the 1st REMF match, I had ticket 023 in the raffle, won a case of wine, from Laithwaites if I remember correctly.
