I actually think that if Brown had either lived in a time when TV and to a lesser extent social media, didn't exist, or had even a modicum of charisma, he would be thought of as one of the great politicians. Just my opinion obviously.

Badly advised. But not advisable, I suspect. I saw a montage of his 'oh there's a camera, better smile' rictus performances once. After his demise. I suspect that TV companies actually stepped away from such mockery when he was PM because it would have been so....cruel.
I head Cameron eulogised today for making it law to recognise same sex marriage. He had no 'need' to do so and it reflected putting the nation before party. The bill was carried with a majority of Tory MPs voting against. Well done Dave. I have called him out of the Brexit fiasco many times but credit where it's due.
Let's see some more MPs putting people before party going forward. I expect Starmer to routinely piss off the hard left, and that bodes well as far as I am concerned. Today he said he is not going to support the creation of new grammar schools, but he is not interested in getting rid of the ones we have. Fine by me. But abolishing the chariddy status of private schools is also a commitment. Happy with that too. We are talking Eton, here, not specialist charity schools for kids with personalized needs. When accused of benefitting from being sent to a private school, instead of saying it was a state school when he started there (which is true), he laughed and said 'I was eleven. It wasn't my decision. And my kids go to (or went to) state schools'. Not everything can be or should be weaponized. Sunk will of course try, though.

As a normally non ITV person, they do it really well. Tom Bradby comes into his own, Peston is fantastic, with great guests (last time Alan Johnson for example).

I was thinking channel 4, sky or itv this time. Itv have had Balls and Osborne previously. Channel 4 have emily maitlis, krishnan guru murthy, cathy newman Rory Stewart and Alistair Campbell and sky has sam Coates and Sophie ridgeAs a normally non ITV person, they do it really well. What order do you go in?
Like a good cheeseboard, the sequence of attack is absolutely key.
Half of me wants to watch it all. Other half would rather just ignore it and see the result in the morning.
