Taking 5 Oscars and $ 350 000 000 at the US Box Office is it a work of genius or a crock of shite.

It won best picture ahead of Pulp Fiction and Shawshank, ffs.
For that reason alone, I hate it. Its a bloody stupid film.

Best Film Editing
Best Picture
Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium
and was nominated for another 7.

I quite like the film, not exactly in my top 10 but not bad

I think it's quite good. No work of genius, and not a crock of shite. However Shawshank is AWESOME.

Its a good film, nothing more. I find the American portrayal of stories like these far too syrupy for my taste.

When I first saw it I didn't know who Gary Sinise was, I honestly thought they'd found a disabled actor. For the blue screen special effects alone it was a worthy Oscar winner.

As for getting Best Picture ahead of Shawshank or Pulp Fiction, that was a disgrace.
