Was it my imagination or was the church one of the most popular places to get a programme, always a queue.

Yup, always got one there. Usually a wee bit of a queue. If memory serves, the newsagent/sweet shop over the bridge at Hove station used to have a stash also.

It's interesting that a lot of these pubs you talk about going to are now, absolute sh*tholes.

I wouldn't set foot in pubs like the Hove Park Tavern, my Dad got started on whilst on crutches by some inbred....and no it's not because he's a Palace fan.

Mostly The Exchange, occasionally the Hove Park Tavern. Will be paying both a visit on our first trip to Falmer when I'll also pass the Goldstone for the first time since we left.
