Anyway, if I'd put in "rained-off" I would probably have got loads of hits going back years and years.

What actually happend is I'd been surfing down the threads for about half an hour and then heard the news on Talk Sport so posted it - if I'd used the "Refresh" button, I may have preserved my embarresment ....

Lesson learned, I shall not post a new thread again ....
