Wish it was in the EU
Rangers v Celtic and Portsmouth v Southampton.

Both 'rivalries' tainted with bigotry unfortunately. Although the two Glasgow clubs have made efforts to educate the more feral elements.

In Zamalek v El Ahly, which is not on there, they have to have a ref from a neutral country for every time they play, the rivalry is so intense that they've got to the point where no local refs can be used.

I voted for the Dutch rivalry between Ajax and Feyenoord, it is the only one I can think of where the fans have met for a pre-arranged ruck...and used bombs on each other...that makes most of what happened in this country during the 70's and early 80's look like playground scuffles.

I think there should be notable mentions for Hearts v Hibs in Scotland, not really the best of friends and Antwerp v Anderlecht in Belgium, some serious fighting between those two.

I agree. Was something in 442 magazine a while ago about how the fans like to have a nice meet'n'greet session b4 the match & after.

Ha ha ha. You an't got a clue
For a start

Cardiff vs Swansea
Millwall vs West ham
Pompey vs Saints
Newcastle vs Sunderland
Bristol city vs Rovers
Chelsea vs Spurs/Leeds

All these and plenty more are for worse then the Pottery derby.

Oh dear. Does the phrase tongue in cheek mean anything to you? :dunce:

Has to be Rangers v Celtic.Pure hate of each other which of course is a lot deeper than football.

Thing is though that the poll is about footballing rivalry. I'd say that most of the hatred between Celtic and Rangers has absolutely nothing to do with football so it's difficult to compare it to others.

Thats clearly why it was excluded from this definitive poll :lolol:
