my fave is actually the one you havnt included, RELICS with sid barret on.

That's a compilation, so presumably missed out on those grounds, as with 'A Collection of Great Dance Songs' and 'Echoes'.

'The Wall' for me, with 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Meddle' just behind.

To be honest, once you've heard one Dave Gilmour track with it's long drawn out notes, you've heard them all. Got to be a Syd album.

Narrows it down to Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Saucerful of Secrets plus two quite bizarre but likeable solo albums ( with a MASSIVE input from Dave Gilmour) then?

Voted for Final Cut as the raw emotion of the album given when it was released (post Falklands) is still powerful today.

Animals has always been my favourite, but I love them all. Wish You Were Here would probably push for a close second to Animals.

Blimey, someone else that appreciates Final Cut. :rave:

I'm a massive fan of the Final Cut. Possibly one of the truly great anti-war political albums. Raw emotion, stripped back production, biting lyrics, the devastating cost of war....

Despite it being the confirmation of Waters inability to work with the rest of the band (or them work with him), it really is a brilliant album, that perhaps is even better for all that was going on behind the scenes.

Where's the option for them all being equally shite ?

Just next to the option for not opening a the thread because you're not going to make a sensible contribution.

Tricky one but I think I'ld have to go with "The Best of Pink Floyd"

Seriously, wish you were here is different gravy. The intro is something else and it's glorious if your in the right mood.

God, that's difficult. Eventually plumped for Atom Heart Mother (Fat Old Sun is lined up for my funeral music) but could easily have found reasons to vote for any of them, yes even the Final Cut.

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.
Wish you were here.
