I have often thought that as well as the sin bin idea they should take a player off if the trainer has to come on and him stay off for a given period say 2/5 minutes the fourth official could time it.

The benefit would be:
(a) Stop players going down when not injured.
(b) chance for a doctor to see them if needed to ensure that they are ok to continue.

i think soming needs to be done, maybe just find some way to mass produce super refs that arent homers or inbreds (please note im not saying all refs are inbreads just the few which taint the game)
