If you saw Pocognoli against Reading you would realize he is a long way off of being fit enough to fill Bongs boots for any length of time. I would think the best he could cope with is to start and be subsituted when he tires.

Based on the Reading game the absolute best we could hope for from Pocognoli would be about 60 minutes. I don't think CH will take the risk

It depends on how much CH rates Hunt or Bruno to play at left back so I think that could happen with Hunt coming on for him about 60th minute.

I don't know much about Hunt but isn't he a right footed RB? Might be harsh to throw him to such a big game hopelessly out of position

Problem with that is if we fall behind we'd have to waste a sub when they'd be better used on attacking replacements. It's a tough call. Poco looked pretty shattered after 70 in the Reading game and vs Ipswich the tempo will be much faster

My suggestion would be Bruno at LB Hunt at RB. It's a shame to shift Bruno after the last few performances and his link up with Knocky but genuinely think Hughton wasn't intending playing Pocognoli in the league for another 2/3 weeks

Isn't that what I wrote?

I'd play Poco - look led alright v Reading overall and would rather not disrupt the defence. He's a prem international left back who's come here to play...

Kayal said in his Instagram that he's ok but we shall see - may not be risked for Tues but hope he plays as he has some pace about him and Stephens and Norwood don't at all...

Again, I think back to that unnecessary foul by that Reading **** on Rosenior  God I hope we beat Reading at home...:tosser:

Is Kayal out? Thought I read somewhere it wasn't as bad as all that ......... but maybe I imagined that!

Don't think we've seen enough of Murray with Baldock yet - tough on Hemed, but that would be my choice - and no change to the back four!

Someone mentioned on here that he'd indicated he would be fit for the next game

As Sheebo said, on Kayal's Twitter and Instagram account, he said he was well and would be available. Hopefully he's not had a reaction today from it.

Who looked totally out of condition and very slow so probably needs another couple of weeks to be ready for consideration. But when needs must.

TBH BG I went on Tues & sat fairly low down just behind the dugouts - next to Towell / Bruno / Stephens / Knocky as it goes. I did find it very hard to follow who was who at times and who was playing well - give me WSU any day. I noticed him making a few nice tackles but genuinely can't remember much about him or the game. I really wasn't arsed one bit about the result & was more interested in individual performances but failed to notice many

He played alright but he was panting for air 2nd half, given that the game was pretty slow for the most part he still looked to have a long way to go before he was match fit and I anticipated him playing in some of the development squad games

Kayal will be fit hopefully, Pocognoli is a specialist left back who has been training with WBA since preseason and with us for a month, I'm guessing (hoping) he must be fit enough to cover this game whilst Bong sits out his ban. Hunt to cover him when he tires.

Looks pretty solid to me.

Away from home I expect CH to a be a bit more defensive.

------------------- Stockdale -------------------
Bruno ------- Dunk ---- Duffy ---- Pocognoli
------ Kayal ---- Norwood --- Stephens -----
Knockeart --------- Murray ----------- Skalak

No need to go defensive as that's asking for trouble and will give Ipswich more confidence....Attack is the best policy against a side that don't score often.

Typical to lose Bong just after his best game for ages. Assuming he did it deliberately - and it looked like he looked up before he played it so I think he did -the ball out of defence, from almost on the byeline, to get Knocky away on the break to build up to the first goal, was absolutely superb. Decent cover available at least, assuming the fella's match fit.

That ball from where he was, and to where it went, was, providing it was meant (and I suspect it was) was truly world class.
I've watched it several times and am astonished. It also is a wonderful example of the importance of hitting on the break.
