19 November 1994 - The UK National Lottery is launched. Sport is named as one of the 'good causes' receiving 16.67% of the money raised (around 4.6p per £1.00 ticket), total invested in sport so far is over £3 billion.

This is very true, its just a shame that we needed to do SO bad in 1996 before things changed! The fact that we have just DESTROYED everyone else in the cycling is just brilliant.

I used to think it was all about the individuals attitude but you can see now its so reliant on funding. I mean if there is no cycling track or coaches......................
