Just sent out the press release...

GOLDSTONE COMMEMORATION EVENING
10 years to the day.......
THURSDAY APRIL 26 2007, 8-11pm
at THE VOLUNTEER, EASTGATE ST. LEWES (tel 01273 476357)
MUSIC from Steve North’s CLASH CITY ROCKERS
and LIVINGSTON FREEMAN
Compered by Attila

Short open mic session for people’s memories of the day
Impromptu Goldstone memorabilia exhibition (bring yours!)
DVD player available for Albion memories (bring DVDs of short select moments)
Lots of real ale (including Hophead donated by the Dark Star Brewing Co, all profits from which go to the Falmer For All Campaign)

ADMISSION £5 (or more if you like) in aid of the Falmer For All Campaign

Ten years since our beloved Goldstone Ground was sold behind our backs and, thanks to NIMBY Lewes Council’s meddling and whining, we are still waiting for the go-ahead for Falmer. So we are bringing our commemoration to their back yard - see you there! Cheers, Attila

Dont like the Dark Star beer rather it dont like me as her indoors said I was pissed after the Duke of Wellington. Not over impressed with the type of music but it is to help BHA so I will be there. Hope a lot more follow suit.

Steve North can't do it now 'cos he's filming for Casualty. I'm asking the Biscuits/Fall/Magazine-esque Fractured to do it instead. They may or may not be able to. Rather than just drumming up one of the old regulars rae there any Albion-supporting bands out there I haven't come across?

A

Attila. Mate. Please pull the plug rather than suffer any further 'washing me hair' refusals. Who the f*** are 'Fractured' and why would we care - even if they weren't saying they 'may or may not be able to'. Nature's way of telling you to knock it on the head IMHO. If you have to go trawling through the equivalent of Yellow Pages to book a band who may or may not be vaguealy interested in the Albion, then maybe time to admit defeat. The momentum's just not there.

ABSOLUTE respect to you for trying tho

With hindsight, tried to edit this to a single '.' - and not for the first time on this thread. But the ****ing 10-minute-edit rule's put paid to that. Oh, well, maybe better out than in, eh?
