Loads of cases in Worthing now. Someone at work has it, and someones daughter is suspected.

I think it won't be long before most of us will have had someone in the family who has had it.

NHS could well go into meltdown, so get as many drugs as you can now!!! oh and run for the hills.

Do they still test to see if it's swine flu that you've got, rather than any other type of flu? What are you supposed to do if you think you've got it?

paracetamol and lots of fluids.

a doctor on the radio was saying this morning that loads of people have already had it without knowing they had, just thinking it was a bad cold and feeling rough.

the mrs and i have both had bad colds, headaches, achey joints etc and put it down to hay fever. chances are it may have been swine flu.

Indeed - the lack of info is appalling. I thought we were all supposed to get a leaflet a while ago - I never got mine.

So, what are you supposed to do. You don't feel well, they tell you not to go to the GP. a) You don't know if you have it and whether you are spreading it b) you might have something else which the GP ought to be treating.

I had slight flu-like symptoms last Fri which lasted for about 24 hours.

Unless you are really unlucky its no worse than the flu (which people also die from) most people won't even know they have had it

Why is no one panicking like this about REGULAR flu, which KILLS 36,000 a year?

Much more dangerous than Swine Flu.

But there is nothng better than mass pandemonium over flu. Our nursery is now telling little ones who have a high temperature to stay away for 7 days!!!!!! FFS kids at nursery always get a high temperature, just like they pass around headlice.

This is a good point. Most of the reporting of this virus is totally without context. Apparently 3000-4000 people die of regular flu in the UK each year.

If you're fit and healthy just sweat it out and try not to give it to others. If you're in a vulnerable category e.g. very young, very ill or 65+ prob best to go see the quack.

a Dr on the beeb yesterday said that anyone who has a fever with temp over 38 degrees right now, has probably got swine flu. In which case my 5 year old son had it on Friday (high temp +38c, and coughing), but by Sunday night was fine.

We rang the NHS direct about 8pm on Friday when we noticed his high temp, the Dr called us back at 1.15 am Saturday morning! They said, just keep giving him Calpol and if it gets worse call them back!

A colleague of mine was out last week with suspected Swine Flu, the Dr told him that they don't even bother testing mild cases, and told him to stay away from work until he felt better. No tamiflu, no nothing
