Nice start to the weekend. If only we'd had Rana at the start of the season we'd have walked the Championship...

we will have a whole mighty problem, when Pakistan tour over here.

And there is also talk of taking Mushy back for our tour, perhaps he will perform and they might then keep him for the return tour!

Uh oh......

Still raining at the Rose bowl. Do the rain dance - :rave:

If Mushy gets picked, and Geriant Jones get injured and Prior plays then we could see a Sussex showdown between them both, wonderful stuff.

Oh, and we can console ourselves with getting the highest number of bonus batting and bowling points in either division - 102.

Which basically means we did excellently in the first innings of most matches, and then f***ed up chasing down modest totals in the second innings. If we'd have got that right, the championship would have been in the bag.

Not forgetting...

Warwickshire: 475 & 180
Sussex: 428 & 126
Warwickshire beat Sussex by 101 runs

It was that Hampshire game in July which was worst (although this Warks game was bad). They wuld have ended up with 219.5, we would have ended up with 238, and - blow me - the championship.

Let's hope the boys don't arse it up against Yorkshire on Sunday. With the weather forecast looking sunny for Hove, and rainy for Durham against Warwickshire at Edgbaston, it could still go either way.

Depends. If we get 2 points, Durham could still pip us to the title by beating Warwickshire quite convincingly. What the actual total and margin would be would depend on how the team batting first fares. Whatever, Durham and Sussex are both promoted, and Warwickshire, in third, are probably promoted, but will be looking for a win to consolodate that third spot.
