Atfer the doom and gloom years of the 70,s and 80,s apart from Barclays '81' side. Even going into the 90,s apart from the odd cup final,we were a poor side. Succes over the last few years is long overdue. However when did things really alter at Sussex ? The Marler/Pigott take-over? Peter Moores ? Chris Adams ? The youth set-up ? do they all share the limelight or are there other reasons for our recent succes? :albion:

Loads of factors, it's a huge success story.

Moores' ability, the decision to spend big on Adams (he is one of the best-paid players in the country), good overseas picks, and a team of very good players but just not quite good enough to be England regulars. And Pakistan's baffling view of Mushy for the past couple of years.

Thought maybe the ?? £3,000,000.00p left to them by a previous Chairman or something , might have had something to do with helping them to obtain their success...

Don't think they have got their hands on the lolly yet. In any case it's going to be spent on ground improvements starting late 07 with the knock down of the Gilligan Stand

Moores did a great job but let's not downplay Chris Adams' role. That man is a winner and his often ruthless pursuit of success has spread through the whole club.

When Adams packs it in it will leave a bigger hole at the club than Moores beacuse he will be harder to replace.
