dont be like that!

If it doesn't then I am looking at an operation, however Mr Surgeon bloke recons it may only be an injection as I have some degree of strength in my right arm......

Cue comments ...thats what your right arm's for etc etc

Do they do this under general in this country? Its quite painful but I've heard it does help - although mostly just delays the inevitable?

Whilst you may feel ok to drive it can be risky. Your mobility in the shoulder/neck area could be affected. Generally after a local best to wait 24 to 48 hours. Think your car insurer would not cover you for that period.
Hope it goes well

i've recently had three cortisone injections(at the same time in different zones) in my shoulder. It was ok but was in pain after about 3 hours and for the next few days. I must add it didn't help me as it was after I dislocated my shoulder and have managed to dislocate twice since, thats 3 times in 4 months so its the knife job for me. I did one in my knee years ago but again this just delayed the op.

Finally I would say don't drive

I had exactly what you had a couple of years ago. The shoulder ended up hurting like hell plus it kept seizing up so I felt I really had to get something done.

The injections are okay they stopped the pain and problem short term (about 3-6 months each time) for me but didn’t last too long. Sometimes one is all you need. After 3 injections though the GP wouldn’t give me any more so I was referred to the surgeon for the operation.

The operation was okay and cured the problem completely only down side was I couldn't drive for a couple of weeks.

Hope the steroids work for you.
