Slightly off the point but I briefly worked in childrens television production in a minor capacity about 13 years ago when I left college.

My boss was told by a BBC presenter (whose name escapes me) that in the future mosts popular television programmes will have an element of people ringing in on a premium rate number because it's a licence to make money.

How prophetic was that ?

Actually this series has quite obviously been a success with young and old people alike.

I'd personally rather watch paint dry, but Saturday night light entertainment prior to Match of The Day is obviously better for it.

So what you are saying is the BBC take a cut of the phone call cost as well as donating some to Children In Need ?
