Jaime - how the HELL are you supposed to pronounce that? Jem? Jam? Jim? Jimmy? Jamie? Hymie?

Hi-may

It's Spanish.

Weirdest one I've encountered was Chael (pronounced Kyle).

Was quite funny when Sade came from nowhere to have a mega-best-selling album in the Eighties. Shar-day was not an obvious pronunciation. Many people embarrassed themselves in Virgin by asking for the album they'd only read about in the Sunday Times by the girl whose name rhymed with Slade

Siobhan
Podraig
Eoifh

The last one I usually see spelled 'Aoife', and the middle one 'Padraig'.
Now they're all spelled right, as near as I can see.

Go raibh maith agat...

Not seen it yet tho keep meaning to. The Jaime I'm thinking of is this nonentity of a little kiddie who always pops up on the Mirror's 3AM page along with her boyfriend Alfie. No idea who either of them are. Tho I can at least pronounce Alfie.

In her case (Ray Winstone's daughter, I think), I've no idea how it's meant to be pronounced.

In it's Spanish form, Jaime is a blokes name.

The Spanish definitely have a collective speech impediment thing going on there. They call Jesus 'Hey! Zeus!' I mean, they can't even get the religion right
