Thats a very generous and thoughtful thing to do. Obviously this person is aware of the difficulties the fans are having in getting through to the ticket office today, so to go to all the trouble of buying a ticket they didn't even want and then giving everyone a chance to buy it on Ebay is very public-spirited of them.

Well done that man

If it's a season ticket holder what action would/could the club take & does the law cover cyber touting?

It's from a season ticket so can't see a problem with it.

It's not like the ticket was brought just to sell on at a profit.

Season tickets are technically non transferrable. Therefore if the club actually finds out that you are using another STH ticket to get into a match they can probably refuse you entry.

Ebay regulations

The resale of tickets for football matches is highly regulated in England and Wales for a number of reasons, including security at sports events. Criminal law often prohibits the resale of such football tickets. For these reasons, all listings for football tickets to association football matches occurring in England or Wales, or involving an English or Welsh national or club team playing outside England or Wales, are prohibited.
