I would hope an Olympian wins this as their chance comes once every 4 years where as Lewis Hamilton will win driver championships loads of times.

True, but Lewis entertains, thrills or frustrates 20 odd times a year, some of these Olympians do it for 10 mins in their lifetime ( entertain me I mean). Much as I admire our Olympians, Lewis is a must watch every other Sunday for months on end and gets my vote as the most thrilling sportsman who supplied the most nail biting 30 seconds of sport this year which covered absolute despair and total elation. Throw in the comical scenes from the Ferrari pit and Lewis is my undoubted winner.
