Sparrow to Crawley

Good for all involved I think though not sure why we are doing Crawley a favour and letting them pick him up for free when we couldn't do that for Scunthorpe. I expect Sparrow may have wanted to stay down here.

Good luck to him. I will always remember his two goals at Swindon that got the Gus bus rolling.

Good for him. Absolutely wasted as a reserve team player and will do fantastic things in League One. Good luck to him.

Heard it was a wage issue, Scunnie couldn't pay him the wage we were paying him so offered him less with us paying off the rest of his contract. Crawley are in a much better financial position and the wage they gave him is probably similar to what we gave him in league one thus doesn't need as bigger settlement from us. Spoke to Matt himself in Starbucks in town as well and he's a proper nice bloke, proper professional.

I suppose it depends on the nature of the settlement. This way he's off our books completely which free up his wages (although I'm sure a % of those were spend on the settlement). Scunny only wanted him on loan which only delayed the problem maybe?

Sounds like a good move for him and a good signing for Crawley. Would have been interesting to see what had happened if he hadnt gone on a spree of getting sent off.

I agree. A surprisingly good trip to Swindon. Surprised them as well. Ankergren arriving in goal and two excellent strikes from Sparrow.

That was a very enjoyable away trip it's fair to say, especially after all the bitterness about the Greer deal.

And lets not forget the goal against Saints.

being from Crawley, really pleased with this as he will do really well there and Crawley needed new blood after Akpan leaving for reading. Still fancy Crawley to make the play offs
