kuipers is awesome, why would you want him as back up????

Kuipers is good but not good enough for a League 1. one of the few players that would have benefited if we had been relegated as he could have still been 1st choice.

We need a better keeper with Kuipers as back up.

Sullivan - release sadly, we need a new keeper and have Kuipers as back up
Whing - keep
Hinshelwood - release (Too small for CB)
Mayo - release
Pearson - release
Loft - not sure
Fraser - contract
Jarrett - relase
Birchall - release
Carole - release
Willis - release
Royce - release
Hart - keep
Robinson - relase
Louis - release
Gargan - keep

Dean White - release
Bob Booker - release (Get that Thompson guy in maybe)

Dicker - No brainer, make big effort to sign
Owusu - make some effort to sign but don't break the bank
Al Bangura - possibly
Borowdale - be nice but have McNulty and possibly Lynch so not needed

Personally I'd also try to off load El-Abd, Hawkins and Livermore too but all probably wouldn't be offered the same wages elsewhere!
Sullivan - Definate keep, we need a new keeper but Kuipers as back up, Never. He'll throw more Paddys than an Irish copper. You have the young keeper as backup, and sign a new number one.

Whing - 2 years
Hinshelwood - release
Mayo - release
Pearson - ?
Loft - 1 year
Fraser - 1 year
Jarrett - relase
Birchall - release
Carole - release
Willis - ?
Royce - ?
Hart - release. Got the bulldog spirit, but hopefully next season we wont be fighting for our lives. So thanks, but no thanks.
Robinson - would be a release, but after what Slades done for Loft, I'd be tempted to give him one year..... if he'll stay is another matter
Louis - 1 year
Gargan - 1 year

Dean White - release
Bob Booker - shoot

Dicker - 2 years
Owusu - make some effort to sign but don't break the bank - agreed. 1year at best
Al Bangura - dont sign
Borowdale - dont sign

Owuso or Hart but not both unless they are prepared to take a wage cut.
I think if Hart took another wage cut, he'd be playing for free.

I think you'll find that a certain ex-Albion striker was earning more than Gary Hart last year playing in the county league!

Sullivan - keep, still young and would be crazy to get rid of a keeper with such potential, especially as he'll be on low-ish wages
Whing - keep
Hinshelwood - keep, he'll keep getting better as he comes back to full match sharpness, deserves longer to try and recreate his previous form
Mayo - release
Loft - keep, still young and looks like he could be a decent player
Fraser - keep
Jarrett - relase
Birchall - release
Carole - release
Hart - keep, perhaps a rolling contract which hopefully he'll take as I doubt he'll be going anywhere else. Much as he was good at the end of the season I'm not sure how many performances like that he can put in a season
Robinson - relase

Dicker - Please please sign
Owusu - think we ought to sign him
Al Bangura - no thanks, like many of our loanees this season had a couple of good games but looked despressingly average afterwards (especially noticeable when you consider the effect Dicker has had)
Borowdale - obviously not permanently but hopefully can get him on loan again until McNUlty is fit as he's been pretty decent for us
Andrew - another decent player but we have enough strikers and if I had the choice I'd probably choose Owusu (although even as I say that it seems crazy considering Andrew has been good last few games and is much younger)

I haven't commented on youth team players, and frankly I find it a bit ridiculous that people are. I have no idea how good these players are or what their potential is but surely the general rule has to be that we keep them while they still have the potential to make the first team? Obviously the hit rate will be low but so are their wages and a small club like ours has to rely on a few youth products.

I've also not commented on coaching staff. Again I don't think it's fair for fans to speculate on how effective people are in their job. Unlike players their roles are not visible to us so I don't see how people feel they can have a justified opinion on whether their contracts should be renewed. I trust Slade to make decisions on the staff.

Of the players contracted to Brighton who are up in June:

Whing - 2 year deal, he deserves it - KEEP

Mayo - great servant to the club, hopefully he can get a deal at Crawley or Eastbourne - RELEASE

Hinshelwood - 1 year deal, I'd keep him as the second-choice right-back - KEEP

Jarrett - seriously disappointed - RELEASE

Birchall - gone already - RELEASE

Sullivan - 2 year deal, showed us he is a good upcoming player and a candidate to replace FDM - KEEP

Hart - 1 year deal, loyal servant and showed us he's still got it - KEEP

Loft - 2 year deal, everybody all but wrote him off and he's proved us wrong by starting every game since the beginning of April - KEEP

Robinson - has the potential, but won't get another chance to show it at the Albion, all the best for the future - RELEASE

Fraser - 2 year deal, he still gets criticised on here by many, but shown himself recently in the midfield - KEEP

Carole - no-where near the player he was when he first played for us - RELEASE

Wills - hard to judge but sounds like he's given some good performances in the reserves, 1 year deal - KEEP

Louis - same as Wills - KEEP

Royce - not heard too much about him and he's been shipped out on loan so hard to judge but unfortunatley let him go - RELEASE

Pearson - a lot was expected when he signed pro last year but with the signings of defenders in the summer, never given the chance. Hope he gets a deal somewhere in the Conference - RELEASE

Gargan - 1 year deal, make or break year for Sam - KEEP

Try and flog Virgo. Even if lost out on his wages this year, but end up not paying the rest.
