Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Lampard has managed to screw another £20k a week to take his wages to £160k a week, despite it being 'all about Chelsea and never wanting to leave'. This has upset Terry who is demanding to be the highest paid player at Stamford Bridge...ad finitum.

WOW!

Chelsea are to announce midfielder Frank Lampard has signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge, Sky Sports News understands.

Lampard, 30, had been the subject of summer-long speculation as former boss Jose Mourinho attempted to lure the England international to Inter Milan.

The Serie A outfit bid for Lampard in July, but Chelsea swiftly rejected the approach, rumoured to be in the region of £9.75million.

Rumour was rife that Lampard, whose previous contract was due to expire at the end of the 2008/09 season, was looking to leave Chelsea and he had hinted at an interest in a move to Italy and a reunion with Mourinho.

But he has now ended further conjecture regarding his future by penning a deal which ties him to Chelsea and is likely to see him end his playing career in West London.

The news will come as a major boost to new Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari who has been charged with the task of overhauling Manchester United in the Premier League UEFA Champions League.

Former West Ham star Lampard joined Chelsea in 2001 and has gone on to score 71 goals in 247 appearances for the Blues.

Anyone saying they aren't excited by this is a friggin LIARFACE.

5 years? For a 30 year old, who's spent the entire summer deliberating over whether to bugger off and join his special friend Jose in another country?

You have to laugh at Chelsea. Mugged, by Frank Lampard. The shame.

Thing is - they could have signed Kaka, Robinho AND Nicole Cooke and I still wouldn't have given a monkey's.

If only the Championship wasn't on Sky I'd cancel the fucker.

Good God surely no footballer is worth that. All these clubs are MASSIVELY in debt - this can only end in tears. The credit crunch will hit these clubs and there will be major fall out.
