So what teams would Gus leave us for?

All the time we’re a Championship team any team in the top flight with a realistic chance of staying there. I honestly believe if he’d been offered the Reading job a month ago he would have taken it he’s never hidden his desire to manage at the highest level and you couldn’t really blame him.

The one that worries me is Everton - it looks like Moyes is finally leaving this Summer so they will need a new manager. I know they are not rich but they have still brough players for multimillions and they have a very good academy, are flirting with a Euro place, have a loyal fan base, like to play good football and show loyalty to their manager.

It is not the special job Gus talks about but it is very much the next step and Moyes has been spoken about as a possible United manager so people do take note of their manager. For me the big clubs will not gamble on Gus yet and he has proven that he will not go to Premiership relegation fodder so it leaves a small group of teams available and for me Everton would be a distinct possiblilty.

I'd had much the same thought, although I wasn't aware that Moyes was especially likely to leave this Summer.

Yes his contract finishes and he is not sign a new one he wants to manage in Germany after taking a year off.

Well, it isn't going to be Stoke. I could see him at West Ham. I don't think that they will fill their new stadium by playing big Sam's football. The locals want flair and flair is what Gus would bring, it's a marriage made in heaven.

Newcastle, although miles away, would be a tempting offer for any half decent manager.

And if he went to a real & massive club like Everton I don't think any of us would begrudge him.

Well I don't like your answer as it's obviously untrue and it makes Gus seem like a ruthless mercenary who would jump ship at the first sign of £££ - which evidently isn't true.

The guy has shown remarkable loyalty with us and deserves a bit of respect for that. There are plenty of bigger clubs with bigger budgets that he wouldn't leave us for.

Yes has shown loyalty but the fact he considered Reading is quite telling in my opinion. Smaller crowds, arguably a smaller club. Bigger wages and bigger transfer budget. Delighted he's staying and hope he does so for many years. But he's got ambitions beyond BHAFC. That's pretty obvious.

This would be a very good move for Gus not sure it would be such a good move for Everton
